Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo, is a bhiksuní consecrated nun of the Kagyu School of Tibetan Buddhism and has spent 12 years living in a cave in the Himalayas, 3 of them in strict meditation retreat. At age 21 (1964) she became one of the first Westerners to be ordained as a Tibetan Buddhist monastic. She is an author, teacher and founder of the Dongyu Gatsal Ling Convent in Himachal Pradesh, India.
